Get a test after sex

People who are sexually active are exposed to the risk of STD infection. To eliminate the risk, a regular STD test with sexual partner is necessary. A STD test can help determine whether a person is infected with STD and detect which type of STD he/ she is having accurately even though the symptoms are still unobvious. With the test result, the doctor can suggest a suitable treatment effectively even in the early stage of infection to reduce the chance of complication development and spread of STDs.

Current STD test mainly are traditional culture, antibody test and rapid DNA PCR test. Traditional culture is limited to certain types of bacteria causing STDs and it requires 2-3 days for processing the test. Antibody test requires a longer window period. False positive result may be identified using antibody test. Rapid DNA PCR test extracts STD pathogen in sample directly for genetic detection with high sensitivity, short window period, on-day test result, high accuracy and the ability for multiple STDs detection.
